Fire Proof Series

Currently my church is studying--- or rather concerntrating on a particular verse in the sermons that are given. The series title is "Fire Proof"; a christian must be Fire Proof. There verse can found in 1 Corinthians 3: 13 which states,

"But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has value"

Today the preacher discussed that Tests come in a christians life not for harm, but to reveal the weaknesses that are present in the flesh and to remove those weakness revealed. In mist of a test, the test itself pushes us to pray more, read our bibles more and search for God more fervently. In mist of these transformations a deeper bond with Christ can be reached. The preacher used the bible story of Nebuchadnezzar's Gold Statue( the book of Daniel Ch: 3) to explain how a test can serve for the greater good. King Nebuchadnezzar order that Shadrach,Meshach and Abednego bow down to a golden statue or die. They remained faithful to Christ and refused to bow down. The King was so angered that he intensified the furnace and order that they be thrown in. When they were thrown in instead of them dying the guards that threw them in died. In the furnace the King saw four men instead of three. When he realized that the men were unharmed he gave glory to God. Furthermore, Christ himself came to their rescue! So because they were thrown in the furnance and remained faithful, they were able to glorify God and See Christ! Tests are meant to help a Christian in their spiritual walk. Let not the storms overcome you, but instead use the storms to open pathways.
