To love someone and have that person reciprocate that is a wonderous gift. There are different types of "love" relationships. There is a love between friends. There is a love between siblings. There is a love between families and finally the love between a husband and a wife. I am posting this poem, one of my favorites, written by Anne Bradstreet "To My Dear and Loveing Husband" to demonstrate the latter. The reason why this poem touches me is because the wife that is expressing her love, does so in the flesh and in the spirit. As Christians it is important to know that love is not only physical, but spiritual and God must be in the center of that love and passion in order for it to survive. Enjoy this poem and share it with the one you love. God Bless.
To My Dear and Loving Husband
If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cAnneot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompetence.
Thy love is such I can no way repay.
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever
That when we live no more, we may live ever.
